Alarm Types

Fire

Detection is provided by radio transmission to the alarm unit or via a signal to the alarm unit by another means.

Entry

Illegal entry into the property can be detected by floor pressure switches, glass breakage, proximity detection, infrared detection, laser detection, voice recognition or switch continuity.
Top

Medical

Warning of a deteriorating medical condition can be activated by an alarm-activating switch in the form of a radio transmitter worn as a pendant around the neck, on the wrist, as a brooch or located in the vicinity of the property.
Top

Panic

This alarm can be activated directly on the enunciator panel or remotely by a radio transmitter worn or carried by an individual, i.e. child leaving or being removed beyond a defined area, or a fixed proximity to the home. (Babies and young children have become targets for abduction and kidnapping).

Zones

The standard system consists of three zones, with additional zones being added to suit the application requirements. Zone applications could, for example, be for the division of properties into active and non active areas. In any type of premises, active zones would be the areas which are in constant use and non active zones for areas which are isolated. in a two-storey dwelling, downstairs could be active and upstairs non active.

Tamper

Will be activated for the following but not limited to radio frequency jamming, i.e. an alternative radio transmitter with sufficient power to prevent the alarm radio transmitter transmitting data and the radio receiver receiving data within the cluster. This could be done intentionally by a prospective burglar or unintentionally by an amateur radio operator. In either case it would only interfere with alarms in the near vicinity and the remainder would be aware of this situation and take the appropriate action. The tamper function will also activate when the components in the system have been changed.
